Born and raised outside of Hickory, Dale was called to the ministry in 1961 as he started his studies at Lenoir Rhyne College. Dale studied at the Methodist Theological School of Ohio, where he graduated in 1969 with a Masters of Divinity.
Moving back to NC, Dale was appointed to a charge in Mt. Airy and nine other churches before retiring and beginning his Minister of Visitation and Evangelism here at Main Street with Floyd Barrier. Dale loves serving Main Street UMC in a variety of ways, including visiting the elderly in nursing homes, rehab centers and the hospitals every week. Dale also assists the Senior Adults, the Heritage Club and the senior minister at the 8:30 services. Having become close to many senior adults at Main Street, Dale has also been asked to participate in many funerals.
Main Street UMC has been a very special church and Dale feels privileged to be a part of its ministerial staff.
