Keith is originally from Miami, FL. He began studying piano at age 4 and organ at 14. Keith began his church career in 1988 as an organist. He attended Appalachian State University for undergraduate studies where he took all coursework for the sacred music degree, studied organ, accompanied the university choral ensembles on both piano and organ, and received his bachelor’s degree in piano performance. He attended Indiana University for graduate school where he also studied organ and received his master’s degree in piano performance with a cognate in choral conducting.
Keith has served churches from Florida to Indiana in part time and full time capacities, with duties including organ, piano, choral conducting, handbells, altarscapes, and audio-visual. He believes worship is one of the most important activities in the life of a congregation, and that the arts are integral to worship because they provide us more opportunities to experience God’s presence. Keith was also artistic director of a non-profit in Kentucky and has taught music in elementary and middle schools in North Carolina and Florida.
Keith and his wife Teresita have been married 18 years, and they have three children: Daniel, Lucas and Kristina.
