United Women in Faith is turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth in the world. We welcome any women who want to belong to and participate in the global mission of the church through United Methodist Women and who commit themselves to the PURPOSE.

United Women in faithUWF Circles  which are smaller groups with an individual emphasis, provide a way for women to meet regularly in smaller groups to worship, study, and be in fellowship with each other.  Our circles (seven in all) meet once a month – usually within the first week of the month.  Our circles have similar tasks and goals, but are each unique in the way they fellowship and in the way they fulfill the UWF purpose.  All of the circles come together a few times a year for special events. Some Ways we Make our Purpose Come Alive!

  • Use the UMF Prayer Calendar  at all unit meetings to pray for those in mission.  Assign the prayer calendar ahead so persons will be ready to read.  Use the UWF Prayer Calendar every day for personal Bible Study.  It has Bible passages for daily reading.  You can use the Bible passages as a part of your devotions at your unit meetings.
  • Use the Reading Program  to learn about all aspects of the mission.  There are books on spiritual growth, mission education, social action and membership in the United Methodist Women.  (See Main Street’s Library for Resources.)
  • Social Action – United Women in Faith has been challenging social injustice for more than 140 years. Members improve the lives of women, children, and youth nationally and internationally.  Our unit is currently collecting Girls Underwear 10-12, Boys underwear 4-12, Girls/Boys Belts, and Hand Sanitizer during the months of April and May to be distributed to Elementary and Middle Schools in Kernersville.  Please contact our Social Action Chair, Becky Oringderff, to arrange pick up of your donations.
  • Read the UWF Response Magazine   It helps us to learn who we are as United Methodist Women. There is also a Bible Study in each issue.  Issues(11 annually) are available in the Main Street UMC Library.
